Here are some of our frequently asked questions:

1. Why should I consider a landscape lighting professional?
  • Professional installation
  • Use of voltmeter and amp probe for optimal performance
  • Safe and efficient equipment, including LED
  • Maintenance plans
  • Warranty
  • Turn-key systems
Our expert staff is highly trained to deliver a variety of lighting installations. We will courteously answer any of your lighting questions and handle any challenges you might face throughout the life of your landscape lighting system. Further, we ensure that the lighting system is installed correctly and continues to provide the warm comfort of light for you and your family for many years to come.

2. When should I start planning for a landscape lighting system?
It’s best to plan for low voltage lighting during initial landscape and hardscape plans. This is especially true if built-in fixtures, such as lights in step risers or hip and cheek walls, are desired. However, 80% of our projects are installed in pre-existing landscapes, so we really can accommodate most situations.

3. How long will the job take from start to finish?
When we begin a job, we are on that site for consecutive days in order to finish your project in the most timely fashion possible. Typically, small jobs take a few days to complete; while larger projects may take a week or more. (Upon acceptance of work, general start and completion dates are discussed and negotiated.) While time is always a consideration for us, we should also note that we never rush our projects.

4. Will the actual installation process damage my yard?
No. We do all of our work by hand--with the utmost care. We do not use any heavy machinery in our installations, so it’s unlikely that there will be any damage to your existing yard. (In fact, many of my customers have commented that they wouldn’t have even known we were there, if it weren’t for the beautiful nighttime lighting effects we left behind.)

5. Do you have a warranty?
Yes. We offer a variety of warranties. We explain those warranties in detail when meeting with the client. We warrant our work completely:
  • Transformers
  • Fixtures
  • Installation
You should also note: Warranty periods do not equate to product quality or life-expectancy (for any manufacturers.) Never judge the quality of a product by looking at the warranty. Typically, companies that warrant their landscape lighting product for a “lifetime” are either engaged in a desperate marketing ploy or are charging you a hidden upfront extended warranty fee (like you can buy for your computer). Since warrantees are almost never used (for quality products), why should you pay for them?

6. Will my lighting system require any maintenance after installation?
Just by the fact that a lighting system is visual, there are many components that must come together and work well to achieve its intended design purpose. As a result, your lighting system will indeed require maintenance. No matter how good the fixture--no matter how good the installer--a lighting system requires maintenance at least once a year to make it look as good as it did the very first night you viewed it.

Simply put, if a landscape lighting company tells you the system won't need any maintenance after it's installed, they are either unknowledgeable or lying--and neither is good for you when seeking a professional.
